WHERE: Seattle Design Center
WHAT: A thoughtfully selected, locally made
work of art is sort of a win-win for nearly anyone on your list: You
support the city's art community while showering a special someone with a
sentimental gift that will last longer than that pair of leather gloves
they're bound to lose.
Seattle Design Center's small works sale features stocking-sized pieces in a variety of mediums. The event includes over 300 works
from local artists represented by Bilinear Art Consulting, the Center
on Contemporary Art, the Community Artists Program at Meyer Wells,
the Eastside Association of Fine Arts, Gallery Context, and William and
Wayne.
All artwork was specially curated to fit the event's giftable and affordable theme,
and the variety of art ensures you'll find something for anyone—like
burlesque dancers for your cheeky roommate or a poppy painting for your
gardening grandmother.
Check out our slide show to get a sneak peek of the pieces.
WHEN: December 10 through 14 from 9 to 5 each day.

For the 20th consecutive year, the enduring Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) presents its annual fundraising extravaganza, the 24-Hour ART MARATHON & AUCTION, a spectacle of pandemonium and frenzied mayhem featuring 20 artists working in a variety of media to create over 100 works of art in a 24-hour period. Rather than wait for the auction to follow a day later, this year’s organizers will wave a magic wand and turn the space into an Auction event (hosted by Auctioneer Matt Smith) less than two hours later, in effect pushing the limit more than ever before. With a theme referencing its longevity (Like a Rolling Stone), the 20th Art Marathon is supported by the Seattle Weekly and 4Culture, with contributions from Elysian Brewing, Sound Spirits, Todd’s Monuments, and Apulent Catering and Special Events. Silent Auction bidding occurs ‘real-time’ during the action!
As always, proceeds of the fundraiser will be split in half between CoCA and the artists. Media ranges from painting, drawing, and collage to sculptural work, fiber, photography, and more. Artists are both emerging and established, gallery-represented talent from the Seattle area, the Northwest region, and Oakland, California. On-site collaborations and demonstrations will occur courtesy of PTT (Painting Toward Telepathy), hyperlinked to the simultaneous Toronto Art Fair.
Participating Artists: CASH (Curtis Ashby), Chris Crites (Courtesy of G. Gibson Gallery), Danielle Foushee, Dave Francis, Liliana Franz, Geoffrey Garza (Courtesy of Traver Gallery), Todd Horton (Courtesy of Smithh & Vallee Gallery), Dayton Knipher, Sabe Lewellyn, Kathy Liao, Susana Montana Murdoch, Amy Oates, Daniel Ogden, Roy Powell, Anne Simernitski, Yvette Simone, Momoko Sudo, Eddie Tang, Suzanne Tidwell, Peter Vukmirovic Stevens.
All festivities take place at CoCA Georgetown at Seattle Design Center, Suite 258, 5701 6th Ave S, Seattle, Washington 98108
